When Dawson-Boyd High School's gymnasium needed a full audio overhaul, Mid States Audio & Video delivered a professional-grade sound system designed to handle everything from packed pep rallies to graduation ceremonies. The existing system had run its course, and the school needed a solution that would deliver clear, consistent coverage across the entire gym floor and bleacher areas.

The heart of the new installation is a JBL speaker system, chosen for its proven performance in large, reverberant gymnasium environments. JBL's line-array and ceiling-mounted loudspeaker configurations ensure uniform sound distribution throughout the space, eliminating the dead spots and feedback issues that plagued the previous setup. Paired with a Symetrix control system, facility staff can now manage audio zones, volume levels, and input routing through an intuitive platform that requires no specialized AV training to operate day to day.

Wireless microphone capability was added through a Shure mic system, providing reliable, interference-free performance for coaches, event announcers, and guest speakers alike. Shure's wireless technology is trusted in demanding environments for a reason — drop-outs and dead batteries are not an option when you're in the middle of a championship game announcement. The system is rounded out by an iPad-based wireless control interface, giving administrators and event staff the freedom to manage the audio system from anywhere on the gym floor without being tethered to a rack or wall panel.
